Supplementary Figure
5. The neocortical layers thickness was measured in the primary
somatosensory cortex of the wild type (A) and homozygous Reeler mutant mouse (B), at
the approximate level -2.1 mm from
bregma (Hof et al., 2000), and found to be smaller in the mutant compared to
the WT. In the CA1 region of the hippocampus the pyramidal cell
layers occupied a larger area in the Relnrl/rl mouse compared to
the WT, while the stratum radiatum was thinner. In the dentate gyrus the
upper blade of the molecular cell layer was thinner, while the upper
blade of the granular cell layer was wider in the mutant. In
the CA3 region of the mutant the pyramidal cell layer was thicker
compared to the WT.
